Museum

The Castle was built in the late 12th century by the Dukes of Zähringen. The historical museum is housed on the five floors of the castle and features changing exhibitions on a wide variety of cultural, historical and current topics.

Third floor: The Grand Hall – a unique ceremonial hall from the Late Middle Ages

Fourth floor: Thun Castle as a ducal building, corn chamber and prison

Fifth floor: The Bernese hipped roof – a roof structure steeped in history
